Incredible portraits, and considering there are only four distinct types of Bengal tiger in the world and they are all featured - it's pretty awesome. Dr Bhagavan Antle of The Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species (T.I.G.E.R.S), is the chap responsible for getting these animals into the studio and a guy called Barry Bland photographed them... you can see more here on the Guardian website.
My friend and colleague, Mat (one tea) Gill has recently gone into the plaster customising business and to mark the occasion he has produced this wonderful piece.... thanks Mr Gill and thanks to Ashley Chikka Chikkaah for taking the pic. Ashley appears to have used the TiltShift Generator app on his iPhone - good work.
The last post reminded me of Barford’s creations and his modern twist on those classic ceramic pieces, cutting up and exchanging elements to create sculptures that are often sinister and sardonic… always humorous though and a brilliant depiction of modern day Britain...
Interesting work by Jessica Harrison; an artist who focuses on the body and its senses, in particular the role of touch and how we explore and interact with the world around us... particulary like the porceline figurine pulling her guts out...
I was testing out the overly-hip Hipstermatic app on my secondhand iphone, (i know, So 2000 and late), this was the first randomly taken test shot, and still my favourite.
