The guy responsible for these cool little icons is Kyle Tezak, a designer from Wisconsin. Nice idea, well executed and I think he has plans to produce prints soon, check out his site here.
This logo for the Melbourne Tourist Board has obviously taken centre stage (or should I say centre court… ha ha ha… brilliant) at the Australian Open – I quite like it, BUT not as much as the official logo for the city of Melbourne (see below), which is an absolute classic….

Didn't realise it but it was directed by H5, the French animation collective responsible for Royksopp's 'Remind Me' video. It opened the 2010 Sundance Film Festival (if you haven't already, check out Spike Jonze's 'I'm Here' too, it's ace) and won a 2010 academy award for best animated short. When asked how he felt about this short film, James Cowen said, "yea man, this rocks".
